THE PROCEDURE

Vaginal surgery seeks to remove excess vaginal tissue, and strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, in order to restore firmness and tightness of the vagina, and improve its appearance. The anatomical parts that usually get reshaped in a vaginal rejuvenation surgery are the labia (majora and minora), mons pubis, perineum, vaginal opening and hymen.

The goal is to improve the aesthetics of the vagina. Intervened areas depend on the type of genital surgery performed, based on the patient’s needs and general criteria of the plastic surgeon.

Before performing a vaginal reconstruction surgery, an analysis phase is always recommended, to get to know the scope of vaginal surgery and the procedure to be used in each specific case.

 

RECOMMENDATIONS

It is preferred that this procedure be done after the last child has been born, on the contrary the benefits obtained will be lost unless the next child is born via c-section.

With this surgery, the vaginal walls are reinforced and the two muscles are brought together to create a smaller vaginal opening.
