THE PROCEDURE

Buttock augmentation involves the surgical insertion of cohesive silicone gel implants to achieve bigger, better proportioned and firmer buttocks.

Buttock implants are placed through an incision of about 1” below the coccyx, where the gluteal crease is located. A space is made in the form of a sack underneath the muscle on each butt to insert the implant. Drainage tubes will be placed which will stay in place for an approximately 10 days, to avoid seromas.

The incisions are closed and a compression garment is to be worn for at least 6 weeks.

 

RECOMMENDATIONS

It is important for you to follow the recommendations of our surgeons to carry out a successful recovery. The patient must avoid sitting and sleeping on the buttocks during the time that the drainage tubes are in place, so it is recommended to plan in advance for your disability claim. This surgery has minimal risks, however post-operative care represents a major part in order to obtain the desired results, this is why it is important to treat this surgery as a major one.

 

RESULTS

Normally, patients that undergo buttock augmentation can carry out calm and low intensity tasks 15 days after the surgery has been performed. The sutures will be removed approximately

2 weeks after the surgery, however the butt will take a few more weeks in completely recovering its natural form.
