THE PROCEDURE
Breast reduction involves removing the excess glandular tissue and skin, repositioning the nipple and areola (the pink skin surrounding the nipple) and mold and fix the glandular tissue.
The surgery lasts a few hours, although the duration of the surgery varies depending on the patient’s case.
At the time of the surgery, the Doctor will probably put in drainage tubes to prevent accumulation of fluid in the area and promote faster healing. After the surgery, the Doctor will wrap the chest area with sterile bandages, and after two days they will be replaced by a surgical bra.
RECOMMENDATIONS
You should avoid excessive exercise and overhead lifting for several weeks after the surgery.
RESULTS
After the surgery the breasts should be protected by a special post-surgical bra. It is a support bra that should be worn for several weeks to promote healing. Loss of sensation of the nipples and breast skin is possible but will improve gradually.
Plastic surgeons agree that patients who undergo breast reduction are among the most satisfied patients in plastic surgery.
